With their vast catalog of platforms and programs, Google has revolutionized the accessibility and diversity of online educational tools. Left Field Labs partnered with them to create the most efficient avenues for putting those resources into instructors’ hands.

A seamless experience

Helping users understand the scope of Google’s educational offerings meant streamlining how they browse those products and programs. To do this, we partnered with Google for Education to build a storefront where instructors explore these resources in one efficient workflow.

Users are able to sign up for the free G Suite for Education; generate and share quotes; and access and purchase products including Classroom, Assignments, and Chromebooks. In addition to the public facing site, we built an easy-to-use CMS allowing Google and their fulfillment partner to update products and manage the purchasing process.

Personalized insight

Having fine-tuned instructor access to Google for Education, we then needed to give school district leaders insight into the usage and impact of Google tools in their school districts. The clearest way to convey the enormous opportunities offered through this platform was through convincing data.

In order to provide this information at scale, we designed Google for Education Transformation Report—a free digital tool for quantifying

organizations’ Google for Education implementation across products. With Transformation Report, district leaders can view personalized insights and recommendations on how to drive transformation in their schools. This feedback serves as both evidence of progress and motivation to continue implementing new resources. The program’s US launch saw terrific success, with a 2020 expansion planned for the UK and additional markets.

At LFL, we understand the power technology has to transform how we communicate, how we collaborate and how we create... but it’s ultimately about how it empowers people. Working with the Google for EDU team, we developed tools and resources that empower administrators, educators and students to help transform and heighten the classroom experience. What made these initiatives truly inspiring for us, was not just the technology itself, but also the opportunity to work alongside such a talented community, and witness the passion and commitment to excellence of everyone involved.

An essential tool

Educators dedicate a considerable amount of time to finding useful and vetted tools, and developing ideas for implementing them. We partnered with Google to create a platform for enhancing that search for educators that utilize Chromebook in the classroom.

To showcase the versatility of Chromebook as a learning tool, we designed the Chromebook App Hub—a rich content discovery experience that allows educators to discover new apps and connect with

fellow educators to discuss best practices for incorporating those apps in the classroom.

The platform was met with enthusiastic responses from both the education and developer communities and was lauded by technology news sources including Tech Crunch and Engadget. It improved brand perception of Chromebooks and, most importantly, spurred classroom adoption of the educational resources it was built to champion.
