CES is all about the future—and with Google AR/XR, Android, and Adobe, we brought it to life. Using cutting-edge AR and Generative AI, we created an immersive experience that seamlessly blended digital and physical worlds. Attendees didn’t just visit the booth; they explored, discovered, and interacted with Android in a whole new way.
We leveraged Google's Geospatial Creator API powered by ARCore and Adobe Aero to create a seamless and immersive AR experience at CES. These tools enabled us to accurately visualize and place digital content within the real-world environment of the Las Vegas Convention Center. By using Photorealistic 3D Tiles from the Google Maps Platform, we ensured that the AR elements blended seamlessly with their physical surroundings.
Our team brought Android figures to life with vibrant, expressive 3D animations that added personality to the event. These characters, led by the friendly Android Bot, guided attendees through the booth, providing both navigation and entertainment. Autodesk Maya was used to create the Android Bot character and other 3D props, while Adobe Aero facilitated the final assembly and interactive behaviors.
Tools like Unreal Engine and Cinema 4D allowed us to rapidly iterate and preview the 3D assets in high fidelity, ensuring precise alignment with the real-world location. This approach enabled us to design an experience that was both immersive and accurate, enhancing the attendee journey through the Google booth.
We showcased Android's latest generative AI features by creating visually stunning assets, including Generative AI Wallpapers that replaced the facade of the Las Vegas Convention Center. This integration of generative AI added an element of surprise and delight, capturing the audience's attention and encouraging exploration of Generative AI demos throughout the booth.
"I loved the experience! I found it super helpful seeing what demos are in each booth, right on top of the booth, as well as the links to navigation. I wish I could use this beyond CES as well!"
- CES Attendee
Attendees accessed the AR experience by scanning a QR code at the booth, which launched the experience directly without an app download. This app-less approach, supported by Adobe Aero's integration with Google Play Instant apps and App Clips, ensured a smooth and frictionless user experience, even in the bustling environment of CES.
The AR activation saw high engagement, with over 10k attendees visiting the booth and more than 9k interacting with the AR experience. The average interaction time was 1.5 minutes, demonstrating the compelling nature of the content and the effectiveness of the AR guide in enhancing the attendee experience.
The Android Bot provided helpful navigation tips and quick directions to transportation hubs, such as the Monorail and shuttle buses. Interactive panels around the booth introduced key demos and features, helping attendees orient themselves and decide which areas to explore first.
Blending digital and physical worlds takes strategy, creativity, and the right technology. Whether you’re exploring AR, Generative AI, or interactive experiences, we can help at any stage of your journey. Let’s explore how we can bring your vision to life.
