Amazon Prime VR

As an industry-leader in streamable and downloadable video, Amazon Prime was eager to take their content compatibility to the next level by expanding to newer virtual mediums like Virtual Reality. Our team of developers helped build and deploy a 3D VR world view that integrated with Prime’s existing gallery of video assets, while also prioritizing accessibility features including closed captioning and localization support for all Amazon supported languages. All assets were viewable from within a custom-created “Cardboard City”, an ownable design that acted as an at-home theater for viewers. Prior to deploying the experience, our team utilized high-res graphics with manageable frame rates to avoid VR motion sickness, ensuring the content ran smoothly across compatible headsets including the Oculus Quest and Pico. Our development team helped maintain the experience and continued to add new features for two years post-launch. It was an exciting first foray into the world of VR for the brand, and our teams continue to work together today to build out exciting new activations that expand their domain.
